TANZANIA 166

Tanzania January 2010

When people ask “so what’s new with you?” they are surprised at our response. “We are moving to Africa!” So how does someone decide such a thing? As with anything worthwhile it is a process. For us it has been a process really of many years.

Mike is from Latrobe, Pennsylvania. I am from Plymouth, North Carolina. We have been married 30 years. We do not have children. Our home is in Murrysville, Pennsylvania. We are members at the Hempfield Church of Christ in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Mike is a journeyman electrician. He has a BS in Community Ministry. My background is in medical assisting. I have a diploma in Office Technology – Medical Transcription.

Mike and I met at Johnson Bible College in Tennessee 1980. We were both raised by church going families. But it was as young adults that we were really ‘challenged with missions.’ We were introduced to a man and a ministry that were very influential in our decision to serve in Korea 1982-1984.

For a long time now we have sensed that it may be time for us to go overseas again. In January of 2010 we had the opportunity to travel to Tanzania. There we visited the work that CMF International is doing in Arusha.

We have been accepted by the CMF team in Tanzania as well as the home office in the state of Indiana. We consider it an honor and a privilege to work together. We are currently seeking partners to invest in this ministry. Joann
