Mike and I just finished an interesting VBS program with the Waterford Christian Church. This is a church outside of Ligionier, Pennsylvania. We have a long history with them actually. Almost thirty years ago, Mike preached his very first sermon ever there! He was SO nervous! They supported our efforts in Korea then. And now they are suporting our efforts in Tanzania.
This particular VBS was held for five consecutive Wednesday evenings. The theme was Hometown Nazareth. Mike and I shared our skits and stories about life in Tanzania. The children collected money for us. The contest was to see who could raise the most money in weight. So all the children brought their offerings in coins! Literally hundreds of dollars were counted out in loose change.
Here are just two of the very special people who helped make this year a success. Both of them sure blessed us. Roger we have known for a while. He is always glad to see us. And he has encouraged us along the the way. He was “Levi” in the carpenter’s shop. He helped with crafts. We just met Sami. She is 14 years old and already has a ‘missionary heart’. She is hoping to travel to Honduras next year. She helped with songs. Join us in saying a prayer of thanks for this congregration. Joann
