Memories

Some of the events over the past couple of weeks rank right up there with being tops for memorable. On the last night of VBS at our church, Mike and I shared with the two and three year old class. We told them we were going to the land far away where the giraffes live. We took a couple of three feet high wooden giraffes with us. The kids were adorable as they hugged and petted them. They surprised us and learned how to say the very big word TANZANIA and the Swahili word for giraffe TWIGA. And they pray for Miss Joann and Mr. Mike!

Then a week later, Mike and I shared with a class at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. The African American pastors in attendance showed much concern over the unreached peoples of Tanzania. And they were quite interested in the water problem there. Our hearts were thrilled at the possibility of their churches partnering with us!

Recently too we celebrated with long time friends of ours the Chaussinand family and the Seaver family. We attended the same Church when we lived in Pittsburgh. We have laughed and cried together. We have been by each others side when a loved one has died or faced surgery. We have worked together and taken a vacation together. We have watched the Chaussinands’ twin sons finish college, get married and start families of their own. Last Saturday we celebrated their youngest son’s graduation from high school. All good stuff!
