“When are you leaving?” is a question we often get asked. The answer to the question is this-We HOPE to be ready to leave early 2011. That being said we have A LOT to do to be ready. Unless something pretty amazing happens, we will not leave as early as we wanted. But we are trusting that we will leave in God’s time. In the meantime we keep busy doing what we can. Part of being ready does involve raising money.
Some people think we are self-supported. Others think funds are being supplied to us through the mission agency we are affiliated with. The truth of the matter is we are having to raise our own support. Of course some of the money we make from the sale of our home and vehicles and personal belongings will be put towards our expenses. For the rest we are dependant on churches and people partnering with us financially as the Lord leads them.
Since we started this support raising process in June, Mike has made over 150 phone calls. We have visited 12 churches and presented at 8 locations. A total of 65 packets of information have been sent out so far. We thought it best to reach out to churches in western PA first and then to spread out into eastern PA, NY, WV, VA, TN, KY, NC. Not to mention countless face to face encounters and emails!
